About this service

Starting a new medicine can raise questions. The New Medicine Service is a free NHS service that gives you dedicated pharmacist support in the first few weeks, so you feel confident and get the most benefit.

We will talk through how and when to take your medicine, help with any side effects or worries, and follow up with you to check how things are going.

Eligibility: For people newly prescribed a medicine for conditions such as asthma or COPD, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or to prevent blood clots. Final eligibility and treatment decisions are confirmed by the pharmacist during your consultation.
